The time it takes to learn to drive can vary from person to person, but it is generally recommended to take at least 8 hours of practical classes.

From the age of 14 and a half, you can start with the theoretical course for a driver's license.

You must demonstrate that you have legal status and provide two bills proving your residence in Texas.

1) Legal status (Parole and I-94, Work and Social Security Permit, Residence, or Citizenship); and 2) 2 proofs of residence in Texas (Lease Agreement, Utility Bills, Bank Statement, Phone Bill, Insurance).

To renew your driver's license, you must have valid legal status and provide two proofs of residence in Texas.

The duration of your driver's license depends on the validity of your legal status. If you are a resident or citizen, it will be valid for 10 years.

You can only drive with a foreign driver's license if you enter the country with a visa, and you are allowed to drive for the first 90 days after entering the country.

If you already know how to drive, you won't need to take driving classes, but the exam will be mandatory to obtain your license.

You must go to the nearest police station to prevent any fraud with your lost license, and then, with the police report, you should go to the DPS to obtain a new license.
